I've never written anything with gtk before and don't have the time to learn at the moment.
The only real advantage aabrowse has over xqf is the ability to talk to the gamespy master server. I guess qstat doesn't include this because the code is reversed engineered and I'm not sure if its ...
And here is the same problem for UT2004 but it has been fixed. Are you running the latest patch for UT2003? This issue might not have been backported to UT2003 yet.
ID has asked Gentoo many times not to make ebuilds for their games. This was the same problem with RTCW and ET, yet the Gentoo team continues. It may not be illegal, but it's pretty rude.
This is very interesting. Are there any links to relevant discussions on the Net somewhere?
You shouldn't take it from my paths - use the locate (or find) command to figure out where the libraries are on your system. Of course it simply doesn't work with gcc 3.4. (I only tried replacing both libgcc and libstd++) emerge libstdc++-v3 That provides a library that is compatible with older ...
You have one problem, the NTFS partition should be a PRIMARY! So you will have to fix that first then you can install Windows and then you have to reinstall grub from a live-cd.
Actually, you can put your XP partition anywhere on the disk as long as windows can write to the first partition.
I'm having problems accessing the network with any KDE 3.3 applications. If I try to use konqueror, any web site returns the page: An error occurred while loading http://www.google.com: Unknown host www.google.com
If I try and log on to MSN with Kopete I get a similar unknown host error message ...
I haven't had much luck with xorg 6.8 With KDE 3.3 about 5 seconds after I run xcompmgr -c I get a signal 11 and X restarts. With XFCE instead of a signal 11, X locks the system hard and all I get is a jumbled screen. In the 5 seconds after I enable everything, the shadows and transpency look really ...
Thanks for that. Enable hover was ticked, I think a window decoration I was using must have set that because it definately didn't happen when I first installed 3.3
I'm having one very annoying problem. Firefox automatically minimises so all I have is the window decoration at the top of the page whenever I move the mouse over the panel area. No other apps are doing this, and it was working fine for the first day I used KDE3.3. As soon as I move the mouse back ...
This was posted by floam on the Red Ochestra forums:
If you installed UT2004 with portage this will be impossible to use. The gentoo ebuild does not use loki installer and does not add ut2004 to the loki database. The only supported way to install is to install UT2004 with the script on the disc ...
/usr stands for "user" (as opposed to "system" or "kernel") That was where the users had their home directories (and other _user_ related files were stored).
Actually, read the post above yours, usr is not user, it is unix system resources.
Not its not. /usr is short for user. In the early ...
No pam wouldn't compile for me either. It's been a while since I played with gcc3.5 but I think it will need patching. The pam source is a mess though so I didn't attempt to figure out what needs doing.
Anybody tried this with Americas Army? I get lots of blips and the pitch of the sound changes as you move around. I've gone back to the original openal for now because the sound quality is just too poor. This is with a SBLive and stereo sound.
I installed gentoo for a friend and hes never used linux before. I just got him to boot off a knoppix cd, set a root password and start sshd. I logged in from 200km's away and set it all up for him. A few months later and he hasn't killed anything yet and its still running. :P
