Compilation for gdk-pixbuf-2.22.1 (pulled in by newer gtk+) fails with USE=jpeg because gdk-pixbuf wants libjpeg.la for jpeg support, which got removed in media-libs/jpeg-8c


$ emerge gdk-pixbuf
...
/bin/grep: /usr/lib64/libjpeg.la: No such file or directory
/bin/sed: can't read /usr/lib64/libjpeg ...

iirc, enforcing mode strictly follows the policy, in which case you should run in permissive mode (at least for now..)

try doing
# run_init /etc/init.d/samba start
(or it could be because its in enforcing mode, since run_init is supposed to be integrated by now.)

theyre all in portage, but they get source from cvs. ie imlib2-9999, its always that version.

its the first time im making an ebuild. im trying to make a meta-ebuild for the enlightenment foundation libraries. they're all cvs, so you need to re-emerge the packages in order to update it.

is it possible to make an ebuild emerge a dep, even if it's already emerged?

if i enable nls, then when i compile glibc, will it install all the locales? or just the ones i specified with userlocales and /etc/locales.build ?

Is the nls use flag needed for locales to work properly? I know you can install them with userlocales, but atm i have -nls in USE flags, and utf doesnt seem to be working.

erm.. what kind of things does the warranty cover?

I just finished installing my kernel and at the end it said:

have you tried the smart boot manager (are those the right words)

why dont you just open it up and try it.

you might not have changed the type to swap

perhaps you didnt compile the radeonfb module into the kernel?

i think menu.lst is what the bootloader actually uses..

is your /etc/fstab ok?

did you use genkernel or make menuconfig?

somewhere it said something about mounting dev too because grub had problems if you didnt.. might want to check that out.

why are you using the tab?

shouldnt it be (sd4) instead of (hd0) ?
