Despite uvesa working well i am only getting 1280x1024 max out of the framebuffer. the picture doesn't even fit my screen completely? i feel at one time i had it working at 1080P?

Is there a kernel setting i am missing?

After i emerge --sync it did its thing until it came to global updates and i got an error. now everytime i use emerge i get that that error.

Sorry it took me soo long to post a solution i had to narrow it down to figure out what i did.

Solution:
1. Emerge i7z
2. In terminal type i7z and run
3. Look at your cpu frequency i have an intel i7 2600k. It runs at 3400mhz and turbos up to 3800mhz. If its not working you will only be able to ...

FIGURED IT OUT AFTER COMPARING KERNELS! Trying to narrow down what i did.
this should be a wiki im sure there are many people with i7's that are not getting turbo boost.

I actually emerged i7z which confirmed my suspicions. i am only getting 3400mhz? I dont even get to 3800 my stock turbo let alone 4800mhz? Works in WIndows!

I have a bios overclock with my i7 2600k set to 4.8ghz. i have noticed that cat /proc/cpuinfo shows my freq 2100mhz even when at load?
I can also tell by my core temps that it seems like this overclock is not in effect? What is going on here?

Well it says xorg-server 1.11.1 is scheduled however xorg-server 1.10.99 is.required for
NVIDIA-drivers. I have tried emerge =xorg-server-1.10.99 and it doesn't want to emerge

I just emerged firefox and it wont start i click on it in kde and see the blinking cursor. No windows appear at all? In the terminal i type firefox and enter and nothing happens as well. Pls Help? its version 3.6.20?

I had to set a dpi option in my xorg.conf. To rid kde of tiny text. I used 96x96. Is there anyway for xorg to configure the dpi? Im not sure if i should be using
96 ,100, 98? i thought there might be a way to auto detect this?
