thank you. turns out /var/lib/xkb directory didn't exist. once created, xgl built with no issue.

hi there. having a problem compiling x11-drm (so I can, you know, use XGL).

hi there.
this can be solved by setting "UseInternalAGPGart" to "no" in your xorg.conf file, and building the appropriate agpgart module in the kernel (I use via-agp for my board). with the latest ati-drivers, 8.22.5 at the time I write this, all is wonderful.

Re: small feature request

The integration of sdl and gtk it's something that has been discused few times in the sdl mailing list , I don't know exactly if it's a matter of modifying gtk , sdl , or both.

I'll just paste a brief conversation I had with the author of MythTV:
<Chutt> you can embed sdl apps in any window ...

Re: Better GTK dialogs and SegaCD boot

3. Even if Gens for Linux cannot boot real (hardware) CDs, I would like to "enter" in SegaCD/MegaCD bios (IOW, boot it without CD), to allow me initialize the "RAM cartridge". I'm not sure if SegaCD/MegaCD games work in Gens for Linux (loading from a image file on hard disk), but I would like to ...

small feature request

so, why doesn't the game play in the same window as the toolbar? is it simply just a matter of not knowing how to embed one screen into another?

other nice thing would be to just compile mplayer, and the newest version of mplayerplug-in. Xine is nice, but there's no mozilla/firefox integration.

plus, it plays every quicktime file I throw at it... not to mention let me listen to my sirius satellite radio internet streams.

bet you cash that's a TV-out, so you can display your picture on your TV.

if your card had a TV tuner on it, you'd probably be seeing a big square aluminum box on your video card. not just a small box, mind you. this thing would be pretty darn huge.

so chances are, you'll want to be looking up how ...

Coaster is nowhere near done yet.

not even all of libburn is complete yet, let alone a GUI that uses it.

wait a while, and it'll get done. the author is getting married in the next few days, so don't expect much progress for a while. :)

until then, use K3b. if you don't want to install all of KDE ...

I've found one fairly annoying design flaw:

the list of upgraded packages refreshes after every new package is installed. if you have a queue of 30-40 packages that you're upgrading, it's extremely annoying not being able to queue up more packages while a small one (say, mirrorselect) has just ...

seems there's a problem with the digest for the 0.3.1 ebuild. kept crapping out. I deleted the digest, then re-ran ebuild porthole-0.3.1.ebuild digest, and it worked just fine.

if you're not using digital cable or satellite, I'd say go with the Hauppage WinTV, or ATI TV Wonder. they're both bttv drivers, and fully-supported.

if you're looking for digital-quality, get a Hauppage PVR 250. they're about the best.

I have an ATI TV Wonder card.
works wonderfully in linux. in fact, the support is BETTER than in windowsXP, because I can use the card's audio. in windows, I used DScaler, and it didn't support ATI TV Wonder audio. so I had to output the sound to my stereo. kludgy, but it worked. and the regular ATI ...

Random X crashes, Corrupted Framebuffer. bad times.

okay, so this has been a problem for quite a while now, but I've never found a way to fix it.

I'm using the Nvidia drivers, and X tends to randomly crash during times of heavy load. it used to be much worse, where every time I'd start an SDL application (Zsnes, RTCW:ET, Frozen Bubble, etc), X ...

Uhm, no cat output? I guess I'll just give it up. Thanks for the help though.

apparently, it works.

I have gotten it working. I just had to extract the Bittorrent directory into /usr/bin also, along with the .py files in the root dir of the package.

however, I see your ebuild works too. I'd rather use that. :)

wow. I actually found a reason to post to the forums. usually my questions are answered by a simple search of the forums or bugzilla. unfortunately, I must be the only gentoo user to have ever heard of the Experimental BitTorrent Client , or perhaps I'm being megalomaniacal. The game runs here, using both Wine and WineX, but it's quite unplayable.

For the first few seconds in a mission, it works fine. But after I see some enemies or something, it starts to run very choppy and becomes unplayable.

Getting it to run was not a problem tho.

the solution to this is to ...
