I have an ATI TV Wonder card.
works wonderfully in linux. in fact, the support is BETTER than in windowsXP, because I can use the card's audio. in windows, I used DScaler, and it didn't support ATI TV Wonder audio. so I had to output the sound to my stereo. kludgy, but it worked. and the regular ATI windows drivers were crap.
just make sure you enable the BTTV driver for Video4Linux in your kernel (I just compile mine in). once the kernel's taken care of, using the card is a breeze.
DO NOT use the gatos drivers. those are only for the All-In-Wonder series of cards. you don't need them. the brooktree bttv driver in the kernel is all you need.
also, check out

make sure you get tvtime and xawtv to test out with.
enjoy.
