I ran into a problem with intebench in that if running in non-realtime mode the memory load test would never finish (and I left the computer "do its thing" for almost 9 hours!). Oddly enough the numbers were strange, if running in RT mode the latencies would be higher than in normal mode, especially ...

Broken out is the whole set of patches (individually) that integrate the whole patchset. The regular is a condensation of those.

In what way are you expecting to work better than gentoo-sources? Are you expecting to work way faster on this kernel?
Read above, he gets a lot of disk activity when using VMWare.

Te help says that for uniprocessor systems (i386, pressumably) the best option is to set ...

RieserFS problems with Disk I/O operations

Maybe the reason some people is experiencing problems with their RiserFS partitions and Nitro2 is due to a problem actually found in CK5 (reported to the CKML), regarding an issue with CFQ scheduler. Have any of you with the problem tried anticipatory I/O sched only? In the report to the ML they say ...

I'm thinking on upgrading it... I'll try one last attempt at this, see if I can get it to segfault again, if it does, upgrade time.

BTW, do you know if it possible to cross-build for x86 on x86_64?
TIA!
