Didn't pay attention to the output when I upgraded my kernel but I have noticed that the system appears to be running slower. :(

Edit: I don't have an nvidia card though.

This just runs a script (/etc/init.d/local.start) that is a convenient place for you to quickly drop in a couple of commands that you wish to be run at boot. By default the script is probably empty so you could safely stop it from being run at ...

Well I don't know about doing a whole package but for an individual file open it up in vim and use the command

:runtime syntax/2html.vim

or

:TOhtml

for short. Sorry I can't provide a program to do a whole java package but hopefully you can struggle through with just that one vim command ...

I'm going to submit a patch to all window managers/desktop environment theme packages that will add a www.goat.cx theme with full colour backgound and maybe some nice icons.

It is not like it's the only theme that comes in it! It's just a big package of themes... Pick one that is APPROPRIATE for your enviroment--and ignore the rest.

Well that's not exactly hardcore porn but I think it certainly falls into "potentially offensive material" and hence you should need the "offensive" USE flag to get it.

Well I've read Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and managed to sit through the first two of the Lord of the Rings films and I also managed to sit through the first Hary Potter film...

I think I've had enough magic spells, wizards, goblins and the like to last me a lifetime! :roll:

I don't care about the speed of ion. I use ion3 daily, although i'm under gnome 2.6 now, and i fall in love with the keybindings and to have a overview over all the windows on one workspace. i love ion and i don't think it's ugly.

There are smaller window managers though. Evilwm does not tile, but is very efficient, and I like it lots.
What I don't like about evilwm is that (last time I used it anyway) you had to launch an xterm that you would launch other apps from and there didn't seem to be any configurability of ...

At the moment I've been trying to get a bitmap to load as my wallpaper, but xsetroot just plain doesn't want to do it.
