Yeah.. They're broken.. but the weird thing is that the first time I restarted after reemerging xkeyboard-config... they worked!!!

Minulla on ollut käytössä asetus "Restore manually saved session" joka löytyy Control Centerissä "KDE Components" -> "Session Manager".

Ja minkähä merkkinen/mallinen kortinlukija mahtaa olla kyseessä? Mikä liitin kortinlukijassa on? Mitä softaa pankki suosittelee?

En oikein tiedä mitään näistä systeemeistä, mutta uteliaisuuttani haluaisin kokeilla. Pankki kertoo asiasta näin:

I also had similar problems with Java, and with the new kernel & emerge update the problems have gone.

Onkohan kenelläkään kokemuksia Osuuspankin verkkopankkiin kirjautumisesta yhdistelmällä sähköinen henkilökortti, kortinlukija ja KDE? Toimiiko hyvin vai meneekö vain hermot? Pankki suosittelee itse IE:n uutta versiota ja jotain tiettyä softaa.

gentoo.mirrored.ca doesnt contain the package portage wants to download (no idea why). find a mirror near you , and specify its name in /etc/make.conf:
GENTOO_MIRRORS="mirror_location"

Now it works! From bugzilla:

Upgrade eselect-opengl to 1.0.3 if you haven't done so yet, and run 'eselect

I don't know much about kdm, but what does the computer say when you try to shut down the computer while logged in as root at a terminal?

I made quite a big emerge update couple of days ago, and faced several problems. Now most of them have been fixed, but there are still two persistent problems. Neither of these two problems has occured before the emerge, and I suspect that the problems have something to do with configuration files ...

This is slightly off the issue, but I was surprised today. I upgraded my kernel, and tried "genkernel --menuconfig --bootloader=grub all" (as adviced in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/kernel-upgrade.xml). After reboot all I got was grubs command line. It may help to add firestarter to programs excluded from management in Session Manager in KDECC (I asume that you create shortcut to firestarter like describe on firestarter page)

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean, or how to do that. I'm not very familiar with KDE or anything ...

I have AMD64 processor and Skype is masked for me in the portage. How unstable is it? Some of my friends use skype and that is one reason I still have to launch WinXP every now and then. ...and I'm new to Gentoo and don't now how unstable programs are in portage but masked.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Donkey Konga is available only for GameCube. I mean the game where one tries to play bongo drums as the cube indicates...

Nintendo sells bongo drums without the game also, so I guess everything that is needed to play ...

I'd like to play a game similar to Nintendo GameCube's Donkey Konga, with those fun bongo drums, on my Gentoo. How to do that?

I have WinTV Go! TV-card that works properly on WinXP. On Gentoo I have installed TVTime, and the card works almost properly. The problem is a short hiss every now and then. Picture quality seems also to be slightly poorer than on Windows, but finetuning doesn't help.
