Volume Shortcut / Kmix Not Working!!!

Hi..

After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 my volumecontrols on my laptop isnt working with kmix anymore...
xev still recognizes the input from the controls.. but isn't responding to them???
Anyone else having the same problem??

Anyways... I got it working.. Found another post similiar to this one that suggested to re-emerge xkbdata.. I tried that but in modular X xkbdata was replaced with xkeyboard-config.. so I re-emerged that, restarted kde and the volume was workin again...

kde slot installations (many versions of kde working) , when you upgrade portage not uninstall the previus version.

It workes for me but only for the extra keyboard buttons. The kmix global shortcuts don't work at all.

I am having the same problem -- the kmix global shortcuts seem to have been broken by some recent upgrade.

Yeah.. They're broken.. but the weird thing is that the first time I restarted after reemerging xkeyboard-config... they worked!!!

Is there a solution to this problem?

It seems that I can configure shortcuts for master volume, and "mute"-shortcut also works. However, "Increase master volume" and "Decrease master volume" shortcuts don't work. Nothing happens when I press the corresponding buttons, although the shortcuts say correctly "XF86AudioRaiseVolume" and "XF86AudioLowerVolume". "emerge xkeyboard-config" does not help.

Please, help me. My girlfriend likes to use those stupid buttons
