Seppe: I have a few questions.
On topic:
When do you think the new 2.6.13.2-nitro ebuild will be released?

Off topic:
Would you do me a favor and send me a tarball of your geekchiks directory?
What program did you use to let you do 3d switching of workspaces?
Edit: found the 3ddesktop for the 3d switching.
And what are you using for a starterdock in your snapshot1.png at the top there? Thanks man!

I just thought it was odd, since Con Kolivas (or anyone else) doesn't reset his patches numbering with every sub-version release.
The current ck5 patchset includes the .2 update.
I prefer the version resetting, personally (more descriptive that way). At a glance, you can see what specific version of the kernel you are running (vs. 2.6.13-nitro2, which could be any subversion). The only thing it doesn't tell you if it is the 5th nitro since 2.6.13 came out (i.e. is 2.6.13.2-nitro1 the first in the .13 series or the second? the 80th?), but that info isn't important, IMO.

First, I used the broken out patches to patch the vanilla kernel and all patched clean except for the last one that changes the name. It bitched and failed.

When trying to compile with suspend2 though I get the following error:

Code: Select all

kernel/built-in.o: In function `do_suspend2_lowlevel':
: undefined reference to `suspend_cpu_counter'
make: *** [.tmp_vmlinux1] Error 1
any ideas what's wrong with that? I'm running amd64 btw.

Which version? I'm using the 2.6.13.2-nitro1 which i believe has -rc7 of swsusp2. Is there an even newer one than that? If so, could you link the patch please?

You might be using that one, but there is the "official" topic for it.

Yeah, but CK5 is based on 2.6.13 not 2.6.13.2. Con includes a 2.6.13_to_2.6.13.2 in his patches. I use 2.6.13.2 as a base, not 2.6.13.
nitro-sources, because between stable and experimental there exists only speed

Latest release I made: 2.6.13.2-nitro1

* 2.6.13.2-nitro1 is released :)
* I don't have a tarball of the geekchicks, but you can find them in http://users.pandora.be/seppe/geekchicks :)
* 3d switching of workspaces is 3ddesktop
* snapshot1.png is really old, but I guess the starterdock on the top is just a Gnome panel with the background made transparant. The thingie on the right is a gDesklet.

Yeah, I found them. That's why I was asking if you _would_ make a tartball of them for me so I could just d/l the tarball of all of them. ;)

Is software suspend 2 working properly with this kernel?

I have yet to be able to get swsusp2 to work 100% with a 2.6.13 kernel... every time I get a problem where my mouse is not working when I restore, even restarting X doesn't fix it.
