(and directfb doesnt work because nvidiafb doesnt like the X org nvidia drivers, which is OK, I'm not trying to get it to work with directfb anyway),
Better use the vesa-tng drivers. But I dont know much about the open source Nvidia drivers
I believe the nvidiafb are only for special cards.

Hmm have you tried reemerging quingy?

If that happens, can you ssh on the machine and check dmesg? Maybe it says where it got stuck.

Well you could try paludis .

It is a complete different package managing programm compatible with portage and way stricter then emerge. But it is unstable and under heavy development thought.
Maybe it works around the problem (which would point to emerge), maybe it gives another side of the story ...

Honestly at this point I would file a bug. Thats way to deep in the system, you are better off consulting a dev that knows how emerge is written to track this further. :?
Or MotivatedTea you think you can dig that further?

At least this is beyond what I know. I am sorry. whished I could do more ...

Can it be a freespace Problem?

I mean
>>> Completed installing cpio-2.9-r1 into /var/tmp/portage/app-arch/cpio-2.9-r1/image/

Does look like the compilation of the app is finished in the sandbox. Now should come some sort of cleanup and copy. Or am I wrong.
I go check it out. (hehe lets hope ...

Well, is it now at least the same file or still Random?

If it is the same file you may want to try to sync again.

I am pretty out of Ideas atm. :(

Heya,

I do not think it is a hardware Problem. Looks more like your compiler has swalloed some unwanted bits.
My guess would be that some low level librefernce doesnt work anymore as it should. Try to run , damn what was the name ;), ...

Damn I just remember the paludis name for it. ( reconcilio ...

ezPyCrypto - Anyone uses this?

Hello everyone,

I just stumbled over ezPyCrypto.

The homepage of ezPyCrypto says
ezPyCrypto is the culmination of my search for an approachable yet powerful crypto library for Python.

I wonder if anyone uses this or tried this Module?

Any experience on this?

I dont think there is a automatic way to swap from unstable to stable.

Maybe not the most elegant way.

Swap Usefalag from ~x86 to 86.
Use emerge -up world > ~/portage.keywords (hope the keyfile is the correct name ;) )
Swap back to ~x86 (just for security)
The correct it by hand to have all ...

Was danach passiert muss man abwarten. Ich denke auf jedenfall ist es nicht zu verachten das Paludis schon heute im ...

nice work.

But i think I miss something here.

On lenya doocumentation it says to use launch.sh

When I try to go to

Code: Select all

http://localhost:8080/lenya/
I get the error msg:
the request source (/lenya/) is not aviable.

I did swap the ownership to tomcat:tomcat and set the mode I set to 777.

Gentoo is about choice so why rip sun out of portage? (Even if a majority is there that does not like it)
Thats ignorant which is closed as closed mind. As long as one hatches the Ebuild it should stay in portage. Just if no support whatsoever it should be removed from portage.

May be you pull in ...

What Flags have you enabled in xine-lib?

Check if you have the aac flag enabled. Thats my first guess.

Then you might try the gmplayer as a first workarount. Check if there dvds play the sound, ruling out general probs with dvd configuration ...

Gentoo doesn't have a road map. How are dev's and users supposed to know where to go when they don't even know where they have been. IMHO the last time Gentoo had any kind of focus it was early 2004.
Hard words.

First of all. We are living on the edge. So what should a roadmap express? I cant ...
