Warcraft and other MMO Guild sites

I'll keep the initial inquiry short. This could probably be suitable in OTW or Other as well. If it moves, I won't be cranky. =)

I run a guild in WoW. That's nothing new. I've also been a Gentoo user for a number of years now and, while I'm comfortable administering the system, I'm still no expert when it comes to programming/scripting. That being said, I'd still like to create a "real" guild website.

I've already implemented phpBB and ezPortal (although I'll change either/both if necessary). The problem is, we need more. I'd eventually like to move to something like Guild Portal ... minus Guild Portal. I want a real calendar system with permissions, among other things. I've seen a number of guild sites out there with some pretty nice features but I don't know if there's a simple, comprehensive way to handle it.

Ideally, I'd like to also offer email hosting and make sure the whole shebang has a single login. However, I'll put that part on hold until I can get a site I really like ... unless, of course, it's something that I have to take into consideration in advance to prevent switching software.

I've seen lots of little modules for php that handle raid tracking, guild banks, loot systems, and a host of other things but I'm wondering if there's anything more comprehensive. I'm willing to piece all of these together if that's what has to be done but without knowing even what my options are (it's not like there's a simple way to inquire about every piece of software used for MMO guild websites =P ) I'm limited in my decision-making abilities.

Any thoughts?

You could try joomla - it's a content management system that works just like guildportal, you can configure everything you need yourself, the question being if you have a reliable server. Guildportal is pretty good, if you don't have reason NOT to use it... you should :P
Before you insult someone, it is often best to walk a mile in their shoes.

That way when you insult them you're already a mile away and have their shoes.

Try e107, its what I use to run my WoW guild website.

It integrates well with something like eqDKP, and has forums, news, gallery, calendar (with subscriptions) all available.

My guild uses XOOPS.
We have a Galleries, Forums and shoutbox for fun.
And we do have a calendar that shows how much Warriors, Priest, etc. come to the raid. And ofc when they have signed on, to what Instance.

The dkppage is a external link but thats oki.
Check it out if you like. :)

for my eq2 guild i've used the one and only drupal + smf
altough drupal's builtin forum using forum_acl might also be sufficient

I like the way wowstead integrates with WoW Armory.
