Maybe xfce is running on the root window for some reason? I think if --root 1 were working it would work with xscreensaver. Instead if seems it is opening in a normal window and then xscreensaver is putting a virtual root window above it. Somehow I need to get it to display in this virtual root ...

electricsheep and xscreensaver strange behavior

Electricsheep will run from the command line with
electricsheep --mplayer 1 --zoom 1
If I use --root 1 nothing happens at all.

The problem is when xscreensaver trys to run electricsheep using the same command that works from command line, all I get is a black screen. I know that there is an ...

I just wanted to say I got an error emerging glibc that it couldn't download glibc-2.5-patches-1.0.tar.bz2 so I just did this
cd /usr/portage/distfiles
wget http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/dist/glibc-2.5-patches-1.0.tar.bz2
I don't know if this is the same problem _BLooDy_ was having earlier because ...

I am using xorg it uses the old config files perfectly fine, and I know it has nothing to do with me using xfree config files with xorg because I had the same problem before there was an xorg.

The resolution in XF86Config-4 does not stay. OCCASIONALY I will get the right resolution. It will always use the right ...

The modeline doesn't affect anything. And the virtual things makes it like 1024x768 but I dont see the whole screen. I have to pan around the viewable area. If I look at my monitor menu it says that its at 1280x1024, so basically it is just zooming in on a 1024x768 section of a 1280x1024 resolution ...

I'm going to shoot X!!!

My resolution in XF86Config-4 won't stay. When I first changed it to 1024x768 and rebooted I still was in 1280x1024. The next day, to my suprise, I turn on the computer and 1024x768. Jumpin' jahosaflat, yee'haw! But, if I reboot or restart X, it changes back to 1280x1024. Once this happens I have to ...

I have 2 questions for this post. Did the change in line 101 work? I use nano to do my editing. How do you get the line number to display as in your example? Thanks
