Just copy over your config and all will stay intact. For example when I upgrade I use this cp /usr/src/linux-CURRENT-RUNNING-KERNEL-gentoo/.config /usr/src/linux/. Here are the docs for ref for future upgrades. Glad you got things running! https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel/Upgrade

No shame at all IMO. Most of my day to day is with React, but I also utilize JQuery in place of vanilla JS at times if allowed on a project. This may or may not be useful to you https://caniuse.com/ for browser support.

This should answer your questions for an upgrade. https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel/Upgrade Just make sure your bootloader etc is updated and that you can boot into new kernel before removing anything. I also suggest keeping an extra kernel in case anything breaks with an upgrade....always nice to ...

Definitely, you have already overcome one of the bigger hurdles just with the installation alone. Keep in mind that you may never even touch USE flags in many cases, and when you do need to enable them its very well documented and really easy once you do it a few times. You are correct with Gentoo ...

Although the game is native it appears to have some issues https://www.protondb.com/app/236390. I see this also from 6 months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/com ... rom_steam/

Maybe some of this will lead you down the rabbit hole to get it working.

Most of the tools needed I get here within the Gentoo Repositories, other users ebuilds, or just use my own ebuilds, but for my work within React & JS the tools are easy to come by. My WM is bwspm along with few other creature comforts!

nodejs, Postman, SQLtabs(I build myself), Atom for my IDE

As the other mentioned Super+alt+Q=logout will log you out of BSPWM, but that can be changed to any keybind you would like by changing the binding within sxhkd. I dont see too much on our wiki, but here is some info from the Arch wiki on sxhkd https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sxhkd

To each their own, but for a WM only install I would follow the Gentoo handbook and select the desktop profile. I am a bspwm user so not certain of what Awesome requires, but I think your going to grab a lot of unneeded stuff by using a gnome profile since its geared towards Gnome. All other points ...

If you're running with Performance Core Boost (bios setting), you might disable it and see if your temp surges don't stabilize.

As far as the difference between Ryzen and previous gen chips, it might be more the lack of reporting in previous gens vs a real difference.

OC'ing should be fine with ...
