I had some troubles with my Myth box recently. I have upgraded to 2.6.15 and was able to compile ivtv 4.2 driver and get it working correctly. I noticed lord_ph mentioned having trouble.. As I understand it you require 4.2 or better on 2.6.15.

The init script to launch mythbackend has been changed ...

I ended up recompiling the kernel (suspend2-sources-2.6.15-r6) , it is preemptible, and everything else went ok... Whatever caused it was in a recent upgrade, but I had some odd things regarding alsa drivers so I think something happened there but I can't be sure... Been running a few days now ...

I've been making use of the package.keywords rather than ACCEPT_KEYWORDS. But I generally have always stayed away from making heavy use of it so it hasn't cause me any problems yet.....! As andrewd18 says, you're probably better of adding it to package.keywords...

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge hibernate-script

should do the trick.. You could also add 'sys-apps/hibernate-script' to '/etc/portage/package.keywords' and you won't need the ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86".

Well I patched the vanilla kernel and everything seems to be working well. Next step is to upgrade the kernel on my MythTV box and get things working on that. :D

Wondering if anyone has successfully applied the swsusp2 patch to 2.6.10-gentoo-r6. Are there any kernels that have the patch in it? If not I'll have to patch a vanilla kernel and try it at least before I worry to much about what kernel I'm running...

Thanks for the ebuild scripts Henning and the tip about using autoconf 2.59! I was able to build digiikam 6.1 using your ebuild no problem without updating autoconf from 2.58, but the plugins failed to build until I updated.

It would be nice if they used modules rather than patching. Wonder if they ever plan to do that given they have been using patches for so long now. The kernel patch is the only reason I tend to stay away from win4lin. But dispite that I am looking to try it but I can't get a kernel from gs sources ...

Two Nic, how to set which is eth0 and which is eth1

I've had two network cards in my machine for well over a year without trouble. Since my last update which included the baselayout my cards have swapped eth0 became eth1 and eth1->eth0. This cause my internet connection fail and I spend a while trying to figure out what is wrong until I ran 'dhcp ...

I discovered this because mozilla and phoenix would not start (as well as the kde ...
