Unfortunately no go, this fix seems to be for another problem (with cedega 4.2.1?).
I got it working with 4.3.2, but it should work with 4.4.3.
For me the game starts fine, I get into the menu, I can start a game, but it crashes in the first round, when the first settler and worker becomes visible ...

failing that, just run cedega from the command line with the above code
Thank you! Starcraft runs better now! :)

command "nice" with cedega?

Hello,

I know with old version of Cedega (winex 3.x) I could use the "nice" command to improve performance of some games (Starcraft for instance).
How can I use this command with Cedega (5.2)?

Re: need help with civ3, cedega

civ3 has never worked in cedega despite being "supported".

i tried it again today. installs fine. click play. nothing at all.

so i patch the game to 1.29f. play -- get the splash and a "Insert CD" popup.

so i find a no-cd patch. now the changes resolution and fails to run, but still no ...

Re: It works!

After lots of reading and experimentation, I finally managed to get Civ4 going. The solution is to use a 24 bit colour depth for the X server . I'm surprised that this hasn't been noted anywhere (unless I missed it). Transgaming should mention it in a FAQ or something.

There are two problems that ...

Civilization-2 and Cedega??

Hi,

I want to know if anyone tried to play Civilization 2 with Cedega? Is it playable? I know its an old game but Civ4 is too much for my system and Civ3 is too hard to play and also unplayable with Cedega.

Changes I've made to the original fancontrol script are described in the first post.

It works just as it should, at ...
