oh yeah.. you're right.. I based my reply on the themes I use... which are precisely the ones that have version number attached to the filename.. :? Then, or the themes will have version number or they are just not updated. Unless they mention that a theme was updated (in the news section), I don't know other way to check that. And this is in fact not a good way to do it... maybe (and probably) I'm missing something here..

About the newest on top.. well that's right. Just not the updated part. Also something I got the wrong idea..

I have just installed e17 and I like it. 1 questions:
When I "fullscreen" a window (second button from the right in the upper right conrer), I can not see my iBar and other stuff anymore. Is there a way to
either make them always stay on top or make fullscreen windows not occupy the space all the way down?
Thanks! Nathan

type, so you can see the different options!
enlightenment_remote | grep maximize

I think you are looking for:
enlightenment_remote -maximize-policy-set SMART

but also try yhe other options, like FILL and EXPAND :)

by the way, does anybody know how I can get my mits on that volume-changer/mixer module I've seen floating around in a screenshot or two?

...this one, for instance: http://get-e.org/Screenshots/User_Submi ... ahbaby.png

nevermind... I found it... it's called evolume and it apparently can be found here: http://rec0.rec.smr.ru/davinchi/public/e17/

That audio module is pretty cool, anyone made or know of a good gaim dock module?
Is Microsoft Stronger?

No, no, no. Quicker, easier, more seductive.

You can also edit the .edc file of the module (once decompiled). There you can ccontrol colors, bg, transparency, fonts, fonts size, ...
Hi,

Probably a stupid question here, but how do you decompile?!

Thanks

Engage has a system tray, and gaim's system tray does work with engage. Is that what you were asking for?

entranced fonts

Post by lambada » Sat Sep 03, 2005 8:23 am

Hi,
I hope this thread contains people that have experience with entrance.
How do you change the background image + font size in textbox of a theme?
Otherwise, entrance is great.

Anyone else having trouple configuring the weather module? Everytime I drop down the "North America" menu list, e17 locks hard and leaves a few processes running that I can't seem to kill.

Does the same thing for me, what i have to do is unload the weather module and that seems to bring my cpu down from 100% agian

Also does anyone know how to configure e17 to use opengl with portage? I was going to try to edit the e_config file and then reemerge it but locate cant find an e_config file.

Just noted that get-e says this about the weather module:
TEMPERATURE DISPLAY IS CORRUPTED IF COMPILED WITH GCC 3.3 DUE TO GCC 3.3 NOT SUPPORTING UTF-8)
This makes sense as the current stable version 3.3.5-xxx, but is unfortunate, as I don't really want to upgrade to GCC 3.4 just to accomodate a weather module.

How to configure engage to show the running app by clicking the "big" icon and not the small one which shows up after mouseover'ing the big one? :)

It used to do that without any additional configuration. Try rolling the scroll wheel on the mouse while you are hovering over the icon which has multiple windows associated with it.

When I click on the big icon I get a new copy of the app like - a second konqueror.

The list is long... and somehow locks hard e.. You may want to hack the list (dir.xml) and delete what you dont need, or move it to other place!

That does not have to do with your previous problem, but to a corrupted display of the temperature. It showed the temperature like this: 17\u00b0C

Did you try the scroll wheel?

HTH
Just something I noticed. It doesn't lock e, but if you stop using your mouse and keyboard, after selecting your city, then the weather module is able to read the appropriate menu item (the city) that you have chosen, and the CPU drops to 0% after sometime.

Just on an aside,- I think the menu of e is the snappiest and fastest I have seen in any application till date.

The small ones represent already running instances (if they are dimmed - they are minimized). Clicking on the large icon will - as you found out - start a new instance. Unless you know C and you're willing to hack the code... there's no way to change that.
If someone solves a problem for you say thanks... and put [SOLVED] in the title!

I'm trying to use edje_cc to make a regular edj of the default background for the Milky's theme. I want to use edje_thumb on the resulting edje so I can make a regular image file from which to set fake transperency.

I decompiled the theme, and extracted the relevant files to a working directory:

default_background.edc
milky_01.jpeg
milky_02.png

In the working directory, I try to compile the edj file with this command (and several variations on it):

Code: Select all

edje_cc -id ./ -fd ./ default_background.edc default_background.edj
and

Code: Select all

edje_cc --image_dir . --font_dir . default_background.edc -o default_background.edj
Sadly, it's not to be. I keep getting:

Code: Select all

edje_cc: Opening "/tmp/edje_cc.edc-tmp-DiErhW" for input
edje_cc: Parsing input file
edje_cc: Error. <stdin>:5 unhandled keyword group
Any pointers?
