howto build emul gtklibs for new gtk version?

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to build new 32 bit versions of gtklibs so that our binary 32 bit packages that are new can use proper gtk theming.

It seems the latest version of gtk in the current emul libs is 2.8.

any tips?

I have found that nspluingwrapper can cause crashes in firefox especially in some pages that have flash ad banner so I had to remove it.

The main issue I have with AMD64 is how outdated the emul libs are. For example, because of the reason that the latest gtklibs in emul are 2.8 (I believe) I can't ...

font spacing in firefox [solved]

Hello all,

Recently I have noticed (since the upgrade to fontconfig 2.4.1) that small fonts in firefox are having a spacing issue. I have two screenshots to demonstrate this problem. The issue seems to only occur in firefox and not in any other gtk program that I have been able to notice (such as ...

I am no network engineer, but I was under the impression that fully redundant implied no single points of failure so that would mean 2 internet connections, 2 firewalls, 2 load balancers, and 2 mysql boxes at least. Then of course you would want each set of ...

The latest freedesktop (portage) compiz is supposed to have support for metacity window decorations (which it doesnt seem to have in portage) and probably a compiz-manager tool.

I guess the ebuilds havent been fully updated yet. But in my experience, the freedesktop compiz seems to be much faster ...

Even though it would be quite hackish, I would manully put mount commands for ...

LDFLAGS + Prelink?

Hello everyone

Currently I have the following in my make.conf:
LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1,-Bdirect"

I was wondering if it was safe to prelink and if it would even provide any type of noticable benefit in addition to the LDFLAGS?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I pretty much just used the package.keywords and package.unmask from the AMD64 forums and it emerged, I logged in without issue except having to recompile 1-2 gtk engines to get them to work right.

No errors, no nothing :D

gmplayer lock aspect ratio on resize

Hello all,

I was wondering if there was any way to lock the aspect ratio of a video playing in gmplayer when you want to resize it? Or do I have to rely only on the "double size" and other predifined sizes?

Thanks in advance.

At this point considering how close the targeted release is, I dont see any reason to upgrade to gcc4. It seems that it is providing a regression in performance and possibly compile time.

I am surprised. Probably the later more minor releases will build upon the 4.0 release to provide a more ...
