LDFLAGS + Prelink?

Hello everyone

Currently I have the following in my make.conf:
LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1,-Bdirect"

I was wondering if it was safe to prelink and if it would even provide any type of noticable benefit in addition to the LDFLAGS?

Bdirect has been superceded by hash-style. You should look into that. FYI I use both hash-style and prelinking.

Do you happen to know what would happen if I were to switch to hashstyle in the place of bdirect? Would I have to rebuild my whole system in that case?
