Hi,
I am a total noob, and I have also another problem.
When I make ./start_net
I get the following:
sync not found. Go get a sane Linux system. Bailing...
insmod not found. Go get a sane Linux system. Bailing...
What have i forgoten to install?

Probleme beim installieren von wlan-ng

Hallo,
ich will auf meinem 2.6.11 Kernel wlan-ng installieren. Jetzt ist da ja emerge linux-wlan-ng eher doof weil mir das sagt, dass das nur mit nem 2.4 Kernel geht.
Ich tu also wie geheißen und lad mir erstmal "linux-wlan-ng-0.2.1-pre26.tar.gz" runter. Wenn ich jetzt "make config" mache geht das ...

I get no errors in dmesg, but how can i check the log?

When i do "ifconfig eth1 up" i get:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such file or directory

I think this is strange because Kismet also gives this error with SIOCSIFFLAGS.

So "Not ready" means, that the wlan adapter isn't connected with an access point?
But why tells me kismet then that the device is unknown?

WLan problem

Hi,
i want to run my prism54-pcmcia card on my notebook.
When i look at the dmesg output, when i plug it in, i get the following:
Loaded prism54 driver, version 1.2
PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
and in ifconfig ...

I have solved the problem, i just copied the files from the 686 to the 386 dir and emerged kdevelop.
Ok, it's a very dirty solution but hey, it works.

WLAN Kismet problem

Hello,
I have a Prism54 Wlan pcmcia card and I want to run kismet.
The problem is that when I try to run kismet, there is an error:
FATAL:: SetIFFLAGs: Unknown interface eth1 : No such file or directary
In the kismet.conf file, I set the source to be
source: prism54g,eth1,prism54

maybe this can help a bit:
The directory: //usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-pc-linux-gnu/ doesn't exist
instead i have: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/
