WLAN Kismet problem

Post by Esel » Thu Jun 23, 2005 3:35 pm

Hello,
I have a Prism54 Wlan pcmcia card and I want to run kismet.
The problem is that when I try to run kismet, there is an error:
FATAL:: SetIFFLAGs: Unknown interface eth1 : No such file or directary
In the kismet.conf file, I set the source to be
source: prism54g,eth1,prism54

When I check my wireless card (iwconfig eth1), it shows
eth1 NOT READY! ESSID: off/any
and all other parameters are zero. However, when I ping the device, it is ok.

I don't know what NOT READY means. Is it because there is no proper connection or the card is not properly installed. Or maybe the problem is on kismet. Thank a lot ahead.
Informatics:
If zero is very big, it's almost as big as a littel one!

are you sure your wireless card is eth1 and not wlan0 or something like that?

When i look inside dmesg, i just have the following messeges when i plug in the card:
PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> GSI 10 (level, low) -> IRQ 10
