OK here is a screenshot of the desktop as it usually is (maybe less cluttered than it usually is :P ~120K) and one with the background showing(~340K).

Window Manager: Fluxbox with the CubicSpace style
Wallpaper: The one included in the CubicSpace style
Applets: wmxmms, wmfishtime, wmMatrix
GKrellM: Theme=Xenophilia, Plugins=GKrellMITime and GKrellMLauch
Gtk+1.x Theme: nebula-light
Gtk+2.x Theme: Angelistic
XMMS Theme: sod
Radio Station Playing in XMMS: Virgin Radio :D

Did I forget anything? Hope you like it!

My desktop running KDE 3.1.2.

I prefer a little warmer theme than most of the population it seems. Enough of the blue and black already! :P

Oh, I'm kinda tired of the blue colors being predominant in themes and colorschemes and whatnot too...but...in the case of my window decoration, Galaxy just looks too nice to pass up, IMO...so I'm willing to deal with a little blue =P As for the black...well...I just like my current wallpaper, it looks nice under the translucent terminal windows ^_^ It may change soon, though, it seems I go through wallpapers on a weekly basis or so...I keep them all, though, in case I want to go back =P (my wallpaper directory is ~500MB now o_O)

Still running XFCE4, did a little tweaking earlier, though.

WM: XFCE4
"UI" Theme: Mist
"Window Manager" theme: fbx
Mediaplayer: Musik
Wallpaper: same one as before.
Browser: Firebird, running the CVS version that's current as of about 6 hours ago. :)

Both of those themes should be in {xfwm,xfce}4-themes if they aren't in the standard distro.

Also got a few shaded PAN (nntp client) windows, plus a few xterms -- one's a general command launching one, and the one (that you can actualy see) is my screen session, currently showing an open irssi.

EDIT: I can't seem to keep my comp names' straight. Changed links a bit. :?

It is gDeskCal. There is no ebuild yet but I am cooking something myself :D I'll post the link to bugs.gentoo.org when it will be ready.

Well... here is the link to the bug report page. You can grab the ebuild and test it but please post your comments there, not in this thread if possible.

All righty then...

I suppose I'd better show off my Gnome 2.3.5.99 Desktop:

Image (1792 x 1344 @ 243.8K)

Widget Style: OutWorld Light, with Industrial Window Trimmin' (I'm guessing, everyone already already has the Industrial theme)

Wallpaper: No idea where I found this one. I'll post a link when/if I can find it again.

Icons: Industrial

Programs: The Gimp 1.3.17

Wow, that GDeskCal program looks pretty slick...might have to give that a try...that's the one thing my desktop is currently lacking, a good way to see what day it is ...

Widget Style: XFCE-curve from XFCE4, obviously. The most recent pre-release, I think.

Wallpaper: I got it from deviantART, but beyond that I have no idea.

Icons: A mix of various themes. I know they don't mix well with each other, but that's what they are...

Programs: ROX-Filer, ROX-Memo, gnome-terminal, gaim. Window manager is Sawfish, theme is mxflat.

@viperlin: How do you get the kernel logs and usage statistics printed on the desktop?

i use "Eterm -Ox --shade 0 -g=230x15+0+800 --no-cursor -n StarDELL-log -T StarDELL-log --scrollbar off -f yellow --buttonbar 0 -e grc tail -f /var/log/syslog"
just add it to programs to load at login.
change the last bit to read the output of another logfile in real time.

Not very recentish: http://home.earthlink.net/~answeris42/screenshot2.png

Fluxbox style: Joeblade from http://www.ratednc-17.com/styles.php

I've taken a liking to xfce4 lately, so when I tweak it out I'll post a screenshot of that.

I've avoided posting my desktop until now. Enjoy it, for what it's worth - running kde 3.1.2 running mosfet's liquid patch (for menu transparency). Wow! Lightening out my window. If this link is broken, try again tomorrow! :-)
