It's also going to have 2.6.22-no1, which is going to have all of con's last patches including SD (SD > CFS), and who knows what else I'll put it.

Also, reiser4 will be there instead of ext4 because ext4 is ridiculously unstable and will break (it did for me).

It should be good, coming back to life ;)

nice, but please add patch from namesys, not from mm-sources (reiser4).

Well, one thing I'd like to not see is the following in /etc/portage/bashrc, or at least a changed one for those of us doing the x86-64 thing:

Code: Select all

# Packages here get custom CFLAGS aside from those set in make.conf
custom_packages=(
${custom_packages[*]}
app-crypt/mit-krb5
)

for i in ${custom_packages[*]}
do
        case ${CATEGORY}/${PN} in
                ${i})
                        CFLAGS="-O2 -march=i686 -frename-registers -pipe -combine"
                        break
                        ;;
        esac
done
Since Conrad is supposedly meant to support amd64, this will make the mit-krb5 emerge abort with a message about your selected cpu not supporting the x86-64 instruction set. Took me a while to figure out where that -march=i686 was coming from, too. :)

:D Will be awesome if it includes einit too, I had a quick look at it but couldn't find enough documentation to configure it.

My notebook's hdd died several days ago and I just bought a new one.

My last gentoo install was made following the conrad guide v4 and I'm waiting for the next version to do my reinstall.

Will it be ready for posting soon ?

(Sorry for my english, I'm french).

I wonder what happened because cheater1034 wrote "NO-SOURCES going to Return STRONG for 2.6.22" in his footer...

Hopefully will be soon, need to reinstall gentoo on my desktop and it would be nice to use a new conrad guide as all the more adventurous install guides are fairly out of date nowadays.
Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved.
