[SOLVED] Error emerging Blender

Hi all,

I'm trying to emerge blender but I get this error:

Hi polle,

I've tried to add the sdl USE flag without success

I also tried to disable the blender-game flag with same results.

I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with ffmpeg.

Any ideas?

That's odd. Unfortunately, what you pasted from the error doesn't show what command failed exactly, but IIRC, the blender build process doesn't show any details at all... dunno how to disable that, but it would be helpful.

I assume the rest of your system is up-to-date, including ffmpeg and faac.

Or maybe you want to unmask and try blender-2.44, if that one happens to work. (Been working fine so far here.)

Did blender install properly earlier?

Yes, I know. That's because I pasted so little info, I think the commands just before the error doesn't show anything useful.

I'll try to unmask version 2.44...

Results in a moment.

I guess that would now be the point where you'd build blender manually following the steps from the ebuild, to see where and why it fails exactly.

We have a very similar system though, so the difference between you and me can almost only be use flags. My output of "emerge -pv blender ffmpeg faac" is as follows:

Compare that to yours, maybe it's a combination of use flags that triggers the problem.

(If all else fails and you have the time, you could try re-emerging world.)

I see something weird on this command. I've installed the Zattoo TV package from the sunrise overlay (there is no ebuild in official portage tree). The libavcodec.so library depends on two zattoo libs (/usr/lib/zattoo/libavutil.so.49 and /usr/lib/zattoo/libfaad.so.0). I think zattoo has changed some codecs or something similar. Is that possible? and if so, how do I restore the original libraries?

In this thread zattoo causes similar problems to other packages (vlc, ffmpeg, etc...). I think this is the problem (I hope so). Tonight I'll try to unmerge zattoo and try again

no luck for me. I never had zuttoo-bin installed. I've everything said here(re-emerging,playing with uses, etc.). And I actually have Blender-2.44 installed, but it will not load movies, and when you are trying to use it for sequencing that doesn't work =P so now i'm stuck with this:
