OK, forget about my previous post: I thought I had purged my system from all gnome related packages, then I removed all gnome-base and gnome-extra files from my portage tree. But I've reinstalled the gnome-* branches to the portage tree and I can see now that librsvg was installed on that first box...

OK, now I have a more serious problem. I've installed the mailwatch plugin. It works fine for my POP mailboxes, but not for IMAP. It should be working with the default settings however (port 143, no secure connection, etc).
Anyone has any idea how to troubleshoot that? I've got nothing in mailwatch log.

Thanks!

Have you or anyone else seen the problem that the entire customization of the panel is gone?
Can you make a peer to peer network between two Apples?

Considering the significant changes that the panel has seen through this new release, I reckon that you have to reset everything.

I just "upgraded" to this yesterday, and when I came in I restarted the X server just to be safe.

I'm now stuck in TWM!

Can somebody help?

19:24 <+CIA-1> uberlord * r2531 baselayout/ (branches/baselayout-1_12/etc/rc.conf trunk/etc/rc.conf): Add Xfce4 session example
19:25 <+drac> 19:08 <+CIA-1> drac * gentoo-x86/xfce-base/xfce4/ (xfce4-4.4.0.ebuild ChangeLog):
19:25 <+drac> 19:08 <+CIA-1> Add XSESSION instructions to pkg_postinst using elog. One of most asked questions in forums.

Next baselayout has an example of that in rc.conf and you get a notice in end of xfce4 installation.

Thanks, drac

I lost my window locations, but I got everything back together after that.

My XSESSION was Xfce-4 instead of Xfce4.

Thanks.

Yes, that changed. It's called Xfce4 and not Xfce-4, I don't know who mispelled it in old ebuild. Anyway, like said now you get that information in end of installation, soon in rc.conf example, and it's mentioned also in Xfce guide so I hope that will cover it.

Cool. I found out the change from Xfce-4 to Xfce4 thanks to the note in rc.conf which says to look for session names in /etc/X11/Sessions/

hey.. this went off without a hitch for me. i must say, for comming back to linux after 2 years, i installed xfce4.4 and beryl without any major problems. and like people were saying, the terminal and fsmgr is quite nice for a lightweight gui.

Hey,

Is there any way to make the system load plugin display load for two CPUs (or generally for more than one :) )?

I'd like to know this as well. I don't have any dual core procs, but my friend was trying to set it up and I couldn't find out how to get it to work, and I should be getting one soon as well :).

xfce4-mixer-4.4.1 tries to update gtk+, glib, intltool as well.
Was this intentional?

2.10+ are latest stable for both glib and gtk+. the mixer ebuild declares >= 2.6 as requirements
for both gtk+ and glib, well below current stable versions.

No problems here, apart from upgrading xfdesktop to 4.4.1 but not 4.5_pre<blah>
