He's on quite a bit, and I don't see him ravaging around and aggressively taking sides on issues.

What are requirements and responsibilities?
Your argument is invalid.

Normally an application is not needed, we've some guys on the list of possible candidates in case we need some helping hands.
So if you think the least of it some PN coming out of nowhere might hit your inbox ;)

Merged to this older thread. Just ignore the [Resolved] as proper moderators do anyway :-P

Has anyone that has not reached the "Veteran" ranking become a Moderator? I wonder if the number of posts are important. :?

Wow, that is interesting, I'm assuming they have some connections in high places ;). Or have given few, but some very insightful posts. :P I wouldn't mind moderating the spanish boards with my 126 posts though :wink:.

What is more likely tho is a user was around quite a bit (maybe to Vet level) and were asked to be a moderator and decided to make a new user and thus their postcount starts afresh. NO chance the admins would give someone with only 14posts (unless known from somewhere else) mod rights
#define HelloWorld int
#define Int main()
#define Return printf
#define Print return
#include <stdio>
HelloWorld Int {
Return("Hello, world!\n");
Print 0;

I was only on about 990 posts when I became a mod, I never got to be a veteran.

The mods with lower post counts tend to be Gentoo developers who we allow to become mods in the language and architecture specific forums.

The number of posts isn't an important factor in deciding who becomes a moderator, the quality of your posts and the way you interact with other forum members is much more important.
