Can be set up as per most WM's ...add /usr/bin/enlightenment-0.17 (depends on which ebuild ver our using I noticed the most recent apears to add link to /usr/bin) to /home/"yourhomedirhere"/.xinitrc file or you can create a session for k/x/gdm under /etc/X11/Sessions just create a file called E17 and add /usr/bin/enlightenment-0.17therobot wrote:I'm alittle confused as to how I get this started. anybody know how I go about this?
i believe if you checked your ctrl alt F1, you'd see an error about efsd and fam... you probably need tokraylus wrote:i emerged it all and it appears to be working. but when i load e17 the menus are extremely flaky. sometimes the menu works and when i move the cursor over the menu items, they become highlighted. sometimes it doesnt. ive only managed to have the menus actually work once (where they'd open up an app).
the first app i tried opening was eterm and i used that to launch apps because after i launched eterm, the menus stopped working.
any app that i opened in e17 would crash and burn shortly after.
btw, the only button that worked perfectly on the menu was exit (or logout, i dont recall).
anyone else have this problem?

/etc/init.d/fam startdefine "configured /home/user/.e subfolders". not sure what you meant by that.stevos22 wrote:Sounds like you're logged in as root.
I created a new user, configured /home/user/.e subfolders and logged in.
No more disappearing menu's!
Just out of curiosity if you do a ps -A is efsd running ...it should startup on the launch of e17 but you never know...and that would cause the issues your having also .....kraylus wrote:define "configured /home/user/.e subfolders". not sure what you meant by that.stevos22 wrote:Sounds like you're logged in as root.
