is there any way I can send a stereo signal to all channels on my 5.1 channel sound card? It's actually the onboard sound on an asus a7n8x-x mobo and I'm using the "versatile" output as a digital out going to my receiver. Does anyone know how to do this? I'm thinking I can map the sounds in my .asoundrc file, but if I do that won't it mess with the sound when I play movies that actually have surround sound? Any help is appreciated...Thanks! If you have any questions about my setup don't hesitate to ask! |

Run alsamixer and unmute "Duplicate Front", that should do the trick |

Well, I'm getting somewhere...I got 5.1 channel output by setting the output device to "surround51" while using the NFORCE.conf file for my asound.conf file. But the output skips. It will play a second then stop for a second then play a second etc. Anyone have any ideas? |
