This will allow an easy method of contacting all moderators at one time.
- Users:
- If you spot what you believe to be a duplicate post, please post a link to it here. In addition, include a link to what is being duplicated.
- If you find a post you think belongs in a different forum, let us know.
- Avoid multiple reports of spam:
- If a user's posts are all spam, report the user, not the posts.
- Review this thread after submitting a report. Please delete your report if someone beat you to the punch.
- Any other post that you think requires moderation (violations of Guidelines, broken BBcode, etc.).
- Moderators:
- Please delete posts after you've addressed them.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like a spam magnet to me. I expect to see spam posts for properties in Turkey from new users any time now.
I've posted a warning. The banhammer is close by. -- Neddyseagoon.
Maybe I'm too wait and see in my old age.

Topic: How to manage multiple gentoo installations
Post: post 8808277
Reason: Technically there's nothing wrong with this one, but it hits uncanny valley for me. It is also a necro-bump by a long term (though not very active) member... Kinda feels like a stolen account, though I don't have any way to verify it.
Dunno, I guess just watch for now.
Under watching, thanks for the report -- fedeliallalinea |

Topic: why Gentoo sucks, and why it will ultimately die
Post: post 8835641
Reason: Could be either just a bored new user or a placeholder.
Actually, do you guys receive notifications when users edit their own posts?
Beside necro posting, but on topic, I do not see anything wrong here, yet. --Banana
[We have access to the forum's notification tools, but administrator privileges do not automatically sign us up for notifications on user changes. Thus, it's good for someone to actively set a watch on suspect content. Sometimes we do this on our own, but it never hurts to have observant users call out suspicious activity we might have missed. -Hu] _________________ Make Computing Fun Again |

Reason: Somewhat suspicious. No mention of Gentoo, no nothing, straight into their "project" with very generic questions, no details whatsoever. Keep an eye.
I agree, under watching. Thanks for the report -- fedeliallalinea
Maybe my suspicion is not justified. There are responses from the user that seem to be genuine. --logrusx

That user is constantly looking for places to insert their trolling responses.
Thx. Already on the watch list. Since this post did not spark a direct conflict, it was left there. -- Banana
That's not the first or last time. This user is in my sight since early 2022 but it looks like this has been going on for years. I don't know what happens to the deleted posts, but if they are preserved in some way, look there. --logrusx
Yes and we do know the history. In this mentioned topic no bad result happened, nor futher comments from the mentioned user or any direct reations from others. We do unterstand that those kind of nonsense comments are annoying, but sometimes it is better to just ignore them and move on, like it has happend in the topic. We will always appreciate any reports for those.

Thx for the report. All posts of this user are in this mentioned thread. Kinda odd. Like, forgot to press the submit button for serveral years :-) . I've send a PM to find out what this is all about. -- Banana
UPDATE: User responded and the thread did get some valid (context itself not checked) responses. -- Banana |

Topic: Guys please help me install Gentoo with binary packages
Post: post 8859647
Reason: The user is insisting on pushing Calculate Linux, but this is the Gentoo Linux support forum, not the Derivative Of Gentoo support forum. They were also asked not to continue but did. I think there's a risk of OP being confused.
I posted a warning in the thread -- pietinger |

Topic: [SOLVED] Cannot emerge world due to python
Reason: No posts exist for this topic
Could someone please clean it up from those bogus posts that make that message appear?
If you mean the page which does not exists, it is a known bug. Sometimes the count of how many pages are available is messed up. There is sadly nothing to clean up. -- Banana
To be precise, it happens due to the "phantom posts" that get inserted without a body, so the post count goes up and the next page link is created, but there's nothing to show. I usually clean these up manually via the database, but I have lost that access once more again 947304 so only certain infra members could do it now. —Chiitoo
@Chiitoo that's exactly what I meant, thanks for the clarification! |

Clarification: this post is about fixing playback in palemoon. There are a few of them. I think they have their place in their own thread for people to find and use it.

Reason: At a point, I feel like these posts begin to become inappropriate. They've been doing this for ages (posting random things about their own DIY distro) but they don't seem particularly keen on learning, just getting a solution.
Noted and thx for the feedback. Since the thread itself is not really problematic (yet), no current action is done. Will have him on watchlist. -- Banana |
