Anyone ever find a solution to this one? I have the same DVD the wife got me for xmas, (brand new), and I cant use the ebuild to install it either, same errors and reasons, building and looking at ebuilds is not my strong suit

Works good but, I dont get an option for anything less than 1800 mhz

Im trying to get unreal tournament to work with aoss/aoss32, so the oss emulation with work with dmix!

Im not sure if this is the right approach, but Im told if I use aoss32 to run 32 bit binaries such as UT99 and skype, that the dmix plugin will mix with alsa.

I have no system notifications, and I use an external player ogg123 to play my system notifications. worked great, until I did emerge -uvD --newuse world. (amd64 unstable)

then they quit, sound works fully otherwise

problem lies somewhere in knotify, other options in knotify dont seem to work ...

I have ALOT of trouble getting these emerged, the ebuilds are all messed up, and Im leaving the province for 6 months and the gf wants nothing more than to be able to use webcam.

gnomemeeting seems to be the only choice, can we start a group effort for us amd64 users to fix the ebuilds for the 3 ...

Edit: I cleaned this post up a lot...

Am now back in business - the above udev rule is not needed in 2.6.10.

After removing it, and using some neat footwork, I got back to the correct contents in /dev/pktcdvd ie 'dvdwri and control', and now ...

This failed for me, 4 of 4 hunks failed while patching pwlib-1.8.3.ebuild

using kernel 2.6.10-gentoo-r2 (gentoo-dev-sources) with pktcdvd compiled right in.
using latest udftools -r4

this took me a bit of time to get working, mainly because when the pktcdvd driver is loaded, it created a character device /dev/pktcdvd, instead of a block device.

I created this udev rule ...

installed 3.3.1 amd64.. compiled the enture suite without aRts.

System notifications will NOT work with external player with /usr/bin/aplay entered in the box.


aplay will play the sounds fine at the command prompt, and all sounds work in games, etc..

just nothing with system notifications.

Everything working, suspend to disk, suspend, APM, etc, no modem in my model.

can hotswap from the IDE cdrom/dvd to floppy, but not back again (hangs).

working on getting hotplug working, for the docking station, which I expect to be quite painful.
