Same here, I tried both solutions, SERVERCMD and SERVERTIMEOUT and a combination of both and no go.

I'm running kdm-4.1.3 on a ~x86. Its no big deal I guess but it would be nice to have. Thanks.

BTW, it seems to try to start, I even see a watch icon, but then it goes back to the terminal login.

tgnb: This didn't work for you?

I noticed problems when I restarted X through /etc/init.d/xdm. It looked like kdm was not using xorg.conf - at least on restarts - weird.

So I added -config /etc/X11/xorg.conf to the X start command in kdmrc ([X-:*-Core]) which fixed the problem.

You could have also upgraded netkit-rsh-0.17-r8 to netkit-rsh-0.17-r9, that worked for me. Just for anyone else with a similar problem.

Thanks.

LOL, I was about to come here and say: FIXED IT!!!

You are right, under /etc/resolv.conf, nameserver was my domainname:
nameserver lilnetwork

I ran dhcpd eth1 and it fixed it. (had to rm the dhcp file)

Do I have to do this everytime?? or I should just get the correct nameserver? Under /etc/conf ...

I get IP Address but can't Ping

I'm floored...I tried using different versions of the drivers/kernels, I even tried using the same stuff as the livecd with no luck. Then check this out: I go out and buy a different NIC, which uses Tulip drivers, its a Linksys NC 100...I install that, it gives me an IP Address, just like the intel ...

I have the exact same problem but instead of having 82566DM I guess I have a newer one:

00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 02)

It uses e1000e instead of e1000, do you think I will have the same solution? Its different version numbers and all ...

They give a script http://beryl-project.org/git-checkout.py.gz (be sure to gunzip it)

Git is just like another SVN or CVS (http://git.or.cz/) when you download the script and emerge git you gotta use

python git-checkout.py

This will checkout Beryl and all its Components into a folder named ...

:D Finally I got it to work. Turns out since I'm using a port replicator, and the sound device is inside of it, the snd-usb-audio device is technically connected through a USB Hub. I found out that this caused problems when I searched around the bug trackers and found that I needed to have this ...

I read the Documentation and did what you suggested, Although it is more clean now, it still doesn't work.

This is my new Config:

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias snd-card-1 snd-usb-audio
options snd-hda-intel index=1
options snd-usb-audio index=0
alias sound-slot-0 ...

I also have a similar problem with my usb-audio device. The problem is that I can't get any sound playback through my usb-audio device.

This is what I have:

HDA Intel at 0xefffc000 irq 50
1 [Audio ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio
