Yes! Kdelibs-3.5.7 has successfully been emerged on my amd64 desktop computer, so I think what I proposed in my previous post is the way to go if you don't want to compile kde twice.

I had the same problem: kdelibs failed because it didn't find qt3 (because of the new expat). I didn't feel like recompiling my entire old kde to be able to install the new version.
I managed to re-emerge qt3 after re-emerging fontconfig. I'm now living in hope that the new kde (3.5.7) will compile ...

I seem to have the same problem. I can manually mount my cdrom (/dev/sr0) without any problem, but I cannot automount it with KDE. I even get the "Permission denied"-message when I tried to automount my cdrom in KDE as root (I only started KDE as root to test this).

You might try uncommenting PPD_PageSize=A4 in /usr/lib/openoffice/share/psprint/psprint.conf. Thisused to set my paper size to A4 (not just the printing) in OpenOffice 1, but did't work for me in OOo2. Since this is about psprint, you might give it a try, but I cannot guarantee anything.

Does .ooo-2.0/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu contain the right value for "ooSetupSystemLocale"? Mine contains nl-BE. If it would contain en-US, you might try changing it manually.

It should, but I have also experienced problems with it in the past. It might help to put it back to default, restart OpenOffice and try it again. If this doesn't work, I don't think I can help you. Anyway, this is the normal way to change OpenOffice settings to A4. It works on openoffice-bin ...

Go to Tools - Options -Language settings and change "Locale setting" into your language (in my case this is Dutch - Belgium) and restart Openoffice. This does not affect the language of the user interface. If "Local setting" is set to a European language/country everything is set to A4 by default.

Don't forget to re-emerge kde-meta after changing this USE flag. Then the kde-i18n-package shouldn't be pulled in.

P.S. Not only English-speaking people want their kde to be in English. My native language is Dutch, but I like my programs to be in English.
