Hier mein kleines Problem. Ich benutze Kopete als IM. Das Fenster geht normalerweise immer auf der Arbeistfläche 1 auf. Wenn ich aber jetzt z.B.auf Arbeitsfläche 2 mein Winamp und meine Shell habe, poped das blöde Kopete fenster auf den Arbeitsbereich 2 auf, wenn ich eine neue Nachricht bekomme ...

So, just installed KDE and some other usefull tools like firefox, K3b and so on. How do you installed your FireGL? Just emerged ati-drivers? Or do I have to do something special?

I just emerged vmware-4.5.2 form the portage tree. I made a vmwar-config.pl. There I have this error:

Virtual machine monitor done
Virtual ethernet done
Bridged networking on /dev/vmnet0 failed
Host-only networking on /dev/vmnet8 (background) done
NAT service on /dev/vmnet8 done ...

How about to use a Knoppix CD? I installed everything from there. You dont really need the 2004.x live CD` from gentoo.

I checked it out before, but I dont recognized a person who wants to install a gentoo-x86 on an Athlon64. So I made this thread, I thought there are more guys who are interrested in this.

you can also add msse2 but I have?t tried I really dont think that all those more exotic CFLAGS are really gonna be that noticable.

Which stage2 release do you use (i686 or athlon-XP)? Do you switched to gcc 3.4 on oyur gentoo-x86?

Just thinkin about to install 32bit-gentoo on another partition. What are the best CFLAGS to you use to kick the last bit of performance out of the Athlon.

I wanted to give this one a try:

CFLAGS="-O3 -march=athlon-xp -pipe -fweb -frename-registers"

What do you say? I read here in the forum ...

Cant tell you wich version I have. My bill says CPU cooler Zalman CNPS 7000CU.

I had the same error onc, but the latest glibc and gcc-3.4-r4 should work for you. Just make a emerge sync .

I just wondering if anybody get those two buttons on the side working? I just playing around with imwheel but I didnt have any luck. I know its masked, but i tried it.

Its no problem to get the wheel working, but I want to use the other two buttons on the left side too.

Anyone did it ...

It is solved. The complete System is compiled with gcc 3.4 and it works fine

I use the zalman! Its perfekt. You didnt even hear it at lowest rpm. idle temp ist about 35 °C and load about 42°C. I have a thermaltake Xaser III case.

@motzky I tried livecd2004.0 with stage1 2004.0, too. So I think it wont help you.

Hopefully any of the developers notice this thread, or any other can submit this bug!

EDIT1: I didnt the some posts before. My links2 browser didnt show me .

I get this sandbox error mentioned in my first post. I use links2 actually to post in this forum, cause no other system is runnin :(. So I dont how copy&paste work. So it takes a long time to post an error.

gcc -v gives me this:

So I booted from liveCD 2004.0 and used 2004.1 stage1, but no luck again.

EDIT1: No luck at all. Same two error!

@Guido Did you try to emerge gcc3.4 before makeing a bootstrap? I just emerged glibc 2.3.3-r1 without a problem, but when I emerge gcc 3.4.0-r4 the I get an error in the ncurses-5.4-r1
