I don't use ivman, I use the automount function of KDE. (sorry!)
But the result is the same.

In the meantime I tried to solve the problem:
- Upgrading baselayout / udev did not help.
- Upgrading to kernel-2.6.21 did not help too.

But when I build kernel-2.6.21 with genkernel, KDE automount does ...

Hi terracotta_shore

No idea,
The problems same happens with KDE and automount http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-55 ... mount.html.
Also with the same kernel config.

I will try to upgrade udev to -108 see if that works

Same problem over here: 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 works fine, 2.6.20-gentoo-r6 does not.
But no idea what's going on.

Thanks for the reply.

I am testing gwhere / tellico (and probably will switch to tellico)

Another promising cataloging program is CdFly http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=26933.
Has an ebuild too, in bugs.gentoo. I did not try this software because it needs Qt4.

Problem is solved.
Don't know exactly what update caused it.

This works without problems for DX50 encoded data:

- xvid-1.1.0-r3

Hi,

Since I upgrade to hcdcat-1.01b.ebuild and/or switched to utf-8 I have a problem with hcdcat:
when I try to add a cd/dvd the program crashes, sometime it displays "cannot mount CD"

Any idea (how to find out) what causes the error?

I started hcdcat in the console.

For this moment I disable unicode in the console.
I can live with this: xterm with unicode works.

Unicode in the console does not work for me: mc and 'make menuconfig' for example show the strange borderlines.
Changing fonts etc does not help, I did not try 'the 'neep' font.

It seems unicode ...

Thanks daschapa.

So for make menuconfig we have to live with the ugly look.

Maybe I better config the console without unicode: it is only used in case of a problem with kernel / xorg.
Else I use xterm.

Hello Viloflo,

Do you have the xmms USE-Flag enabled is /etc/make.conf?

If Yes: remove this flag

Edit:
Sorry! according to your emerge --info you don't have this flag enabled in make.conf.

I had the same problem as you, I solved by adding new-use to emerge:

Code: Select all

emerge -uDN world

Hi nichocouk,

I do not understand why your settings are not stored in wpa_supplicant.conf.

Maybe you have enter this file (wpa_supplicant.conf) manually first.
