Oops something went wrong...

Again:

Playback of DX50 encoded video data is choppy,
Video playback freezes every second for about 0.1 second, but the audio channel does not have this problem.
Playback of other formats such as Xvid does not have this problem.
- DMA is enabled, data is stored on harddisk.
- I'am using xine-lib-1.0
- use flags:

Code: Select all

USE="aac artswrappersuid atlas audiofile cdparanoia divx4linux dvd fftw \
flac gstreamer gtk2 libaudiofile matroska mmx monkey mp3 pcmcia ppds \
sndfile sse svg theora tiff unicode usb wifi wxwindows xine xvid \
-libg -gtk xvmc nvidia vidix mng font-server truetype-fonts type1-fonts ffmpeg"
What causes this problem?

It seems I'm the only one who's having this problem.

In the mean time I have learned something:
- recompiling xine results in the same effects
- DX50 means DIVX 5.0 coded data,
- playback with DIVX 5.21 codec (latest microsoft windows version) is working fine
- playback with DIVX 5.05 codec (latest linux version) does have 'choppy' problems.

Does anybody know if the linux version is older than the windows version like the version numbers suggest?

Problem is solved.
Don't know exactly what update caused it.

This works without problems for DX50 encoded data:
- xine-lib-1.1.2-r3
- xvid-1.1.0-r3
