TunePimp wont compile [SOLVED]

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

TunePimp wont compile [SOLVED]

Post by i-right-i » Fri Jan 05, 2007 4:25 pm

When trying to get Tunepimp to compile so I can get Musicbrainz working with Amarok, I am getting what appears to be a linking/ebuild error.

>>> Source unpacked.
>>> Compiling source in /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/tunepimp-0.5.2/work/libtunepimp-0.5.2 ...
python: can't open file 'setup.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory

!!! ERROR: media-libs/tunepimp-0.5.2 failed.
Call stack:
ebuild.sh, line 1593: Called dyn_compile
ebuild.sh, line 951: Called src_compile
ebuild.sh, line 1282: Called distutils_src_compile
distutils.eclass, line 38: Called die

I have searched the boards, but I can't seem to find anyone else having this same issue. I have found alot of posts about Tunepimp, but nothing with this error.

I am running in the ~arch tree with a 2.6.19-r2 kernel.

I had the same problem -x86 stable / unstable-.
It was solved after a emerge --sync (a few minuts ago)

It seems that the lastest SYNC has fixed this. Even after I got tunepimp running, and then recompiled amarok it still wouldnt work. Then for grins I re-compiled MusicBraniz and Amarok and all is good now.
