I have finally overcome the fftw.h bug. The problem is that fftw released a new, non-backwards compatible version (3.xx) and Grass depends on the older version (2.1.5). To solve this problem just download the older version from the FFTW homepage and install it. Then try Grass again. I'm not positive ...

man o man commander keen. I agree #5 was the best. The ol Jazz Jackrabit X-mas edition released on a floppy disk from the drugstore. Now that was fine computing.

that sounds good but how do i know if they're corrupted. I can open /.fluxbox/init though I haven't tried the others. I have tried exit but it just goes back to the login screen which doesn't, though maybe i'm blind, have a shutdown button. Perhaps I should try something other than xdm.

First I'm running fluxbox under xdm. I had to shut down the computer quickly so I did Ctrl+Alt+bspace because i can't figure out another way to do it. This didn't work anyway so I had to just hit the power button. But now fluxbox won't make my background full (it tiles instead) and it won't do ...
