I just recently got Jazz Jackrabbit 2 working under wine, 8) I just finally decided to go ahead and try it. Everything works in it fine, but when I go to multiplayer, it can't find any servers. It also does this in windows. does anybody know if the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 servers still exist?

Jazz Jackrabbit 1 is better than the sequel, though the sequel has (dubious) multiplayer.

Whoa, Jazz the Jackrabbit, I remeber playing the x-mas edition a loooong time ago, I used my gravis gamepad on a 286 updated to 386 with fast cache (talk about speed!) with an adlib soundcard. Talk about back in the day...

The original Jazz the Jackrabbit is apparently being released for GBA, or there were plans for it.

i played many platform games, such
as commander keen (part 5 with the
robots is my favourite), dangerous
dave, duke nukem 1 and 2, the blues
brothers, and more.

i played jazz jackrabbit 1 + 2 as well,
though by the time they came out, i
was more into strategy and rpg games.

doesn't make them less good though

I played JJ2 online a few years ago, around 1999. Back then there were only like 4-5 servers up at any given time, so this is normal...

i have very vague memories of jazz jackrabbit being a platformer.. how exactly did the multiplayer mode work, was it just the single player game done in co-op?

not really.. there was deathmatch
for instance, though deathmatch
with a platformer never really inte-
rested me, unless it's liero or such.

man o man commander keen. I agree #5 was the best. The ol Jazz Jackrabit X-mas edition released on a floppy disk from the drugstore. Now that was fine computing.

I still have my Jazz Jackrabbit 2 CD.... I played it once at school on a LAN (the teacher let us play JJ2 on the LAN, 28 people is just gorgeous). Too bad the multiplayer isn't all that. Its just a who can smash the buttons faster fest, as all weapons do the same damage.
