Have you found out how to run a remote window manager through the X11.app? I would like to run fluxbox in a window, but haven't had any luck yet. I can run normal applications yes, but I would like to have them all bundled into one window.

Well, after buying an "old" PS/2 keyboard that problem seems to be gone.

But the reboot problems were still there. After some fiddling around I noticed that the Fic cooling to be screwed too tight. At least this is what I think (an uneven motherboard) because it now compiles emerge -e world.

Another development :? The Windows 2000 installation spontaneously reboots after a couple of minutes of idle time. When I use it though it works like a charm...

Any suggestions what can cause this?

I have now tried installing Windows 2000 and have run CPU burn-in for a 15 minutes without any lock-ups. Had to run to instances to get it to use 100% cpu time. Looks like the cpu is ok.

I'm buying a new keyboard tomorrow so I can have a real go at installing Gentoo. Hopefully that's it ;-)

LiveCD 2005.1 locks up my system

Hi,

I've got a brand new Fic Condor-SB65G2 barebone system with a 3GHz prescott, Geil 1GB PC3200 Dual Channel ram and a serial ata harddrive. After successfully booting the LiveCD my computer starts spewing out atkbd.c: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0x81 on isa0060/serio0).
atkbd.c ...

Well, I am quite happy now. My data is still there and .bash_history does not contain any strange input for root.
This brings me to the question why this happened. This is the second time the server is doing this. I have not touched it since a fresh install, and last day the e-mail server stopped ...

good luck :/

I'm still hoping that something else is to blame and that all the data is still there

Luckily I've got some older backups on CD as well, but a whole lot of "unimportant" e-mail is probably gone. At least nothing we can't afford to loose was there (or so I like to tell myself ...

Does rm -rf / traverse /mnt/*

Hi,

I'm thinking I might have tried to remove a directory with the command rm -rf dir_name /
The current working directory was a tmp dir on my backup drive which was at the time mounted as rw on /mnt/backup.
As the server is not responding I'm thinking I might have done the above error. Will the ...

Try

Code: Select all

grep -i spam /etc/amavisd.conf|grep -v ^#
to see if '@bypass_spam_checks_maps = (1);' is in the list. If it is you should comment it. I had a problem with this line being two places in my amavisd.conf which I installed yesterday.

Don't know if this could be at fault.

That must be the trick yes. Even though I have set the hordeauth value to true in my version.

Only thing still not working now is the Weather.com service. I think I have to recompile PHP, but I will not bother with it any more. At least IMP works with a single login.

Horde-3.0.2 IMP authentication don't save preferences

Hi,

I've set up a functional Horde-3.0.2 and IMP-4.0.1, but after setting authentication to be handled by IMP the preferences don't get saved. It's an annoying problem.
If Horde authenticates users they will have to login twice, which is a worse option.

Sincerely

Well, that's not the problem is it?

The problem is that the header does only count 6 of the checks, but in the body there are 21 checks that should be counted as points.

Thanks for your answers!

I feel more confident that my friend and I can find a solution that fits us both.

First it's waiting for the ISP to answer our request for two IP, second we'll plan our setup. Hopefully with two IP's

Well, I don't need "all" ports from the internet, but it would be great having most of the common ones (ftp, ssh, http) and probably bittorrent possibilities.
I can see two solutions:
1. We use one server, and maps the filesystems for ftp etc from the other one over NFS (or alike) over WIFI.
2. We ...

Does this mean that only HTTP packets have the requested domain name in them? I was surely hoping that this was the case for all IP packets :-(
This way an advanced firewall script could easily check all IP headers for the requested domain like Apache does with virtual domains.

2 domains -> 1 IP -> 2 servers?

Hi,

A friend next door and I plan to migrate our networks to one over WIFI and cut costs by freing the need for two ISP's. The line will be 2Mbit/648Kbit.
The problem is that both want's to be able to access all ports on their own local server from the Internet.
Is this possible to do with only 1 ...
