This is the output after emerging a package:

Code: Select all

 * Caching service dependencies...
/var/lib/init.d/depcache: line 20: # /etc/rc.conf: Global startup script configuration settings
# $Header: /home/cvsroot/gentoo-src/rc-scripts/etc/rc.conf,v 1.22 2003/10/21 06:09:42 vapier Exp $

# Use KEYMAP to specify the default console keymap. There is a complete tree
# of keymaps in /usr/share/keymaps to choose from. This setting is used by the
# /etc/init.d/keymaps script.

KEYMAP="us"

Why is this and how can I change it?

Seems like your

Code: Select all

/etc/rc.conf
file was included in your

Code: Select all

/var/lib/init.d/depcache
for whatever reason...
Maybe it has to do something with your init system...
ASUS Z87-PLUS, i7-4770, 2x8GB DDR3-1600, 700W OCZ Power Supply, EVGA GTX760 4GB, 3TB HDD, Gentoo ~amd64 (3.10.10, dm-crypt full disk, awesome)

It happened after emerging a new baselayout...

The command in /var/lib/init.d/depcache on line 20 is:

Code: Select all

19 provide() {
20         echo "PROVIDE $*"; return 0
21 }
Don't know if this could be at fault.

Looks exactly like mine...
Have you tried to rerun the script?
