Amavisd-new and Spamassasin

  • Quote

Post by mcbarlo » Tue Aug 30, 2005 12:15 pm

I have done my mailserver with this howto: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/pl/mailfilter-guide.xml

Virus scan is working great but anti-spam does not. I think that is a problem: ANTI-SPAM code NOT loaded

But I don't know how can I turn on this code. I have commented this line i amavis config:
#@bypass_spam_checks_maps = (1);

What I'm doing wrong?

Try

Code: Select all

grep -i spam /etc/amavisd.conf|grep -v ^#
to see if '@bypass_spam_checks_maps = (1);' is in the list. If it is you should comment it. I had a problem with this line being two places in my amavisd.conf which I installed yesterday.

Is SpamAssassin installed and working ok? su - amavis (I think that's the username it runs as) then

spamassassin -D --lint

should get loads of output, much of which might not mean a lot to you.

that runs just fine for me. Also, running spamassassin manually on messages spits out the correct headers and spam scores.

given other posts of configs on here that don't quite fit, here's the whole thing and if we resolve this I'll stick in what was wrong and what needed to be changed:

that makes me feel a little bit silly but there is an explanation..

That line appears twice in the file. Once at line 167 where I thought it was commented out but once again at line 1075.

"ANTI-SPAM code loaded"

woohoo.

Hope this helps someone else out with this problem, make sure all instances of @bypass_spam_checks_maps = (1); are commented out in your config..

Yes, it appears at the top of the file amongst other comments. I installed and gave up on amavisd-new a while back and I'd have to say it's about the most scary config file I've ever seen. It makes the Postfix config file look tiny. Not a bit user-friendly. If there is a command that will show you the bits of the config it's using to run on, that would be good.
