I am trying to reinstall kde and I get hung up on this dependency. here is the info:

nevermind. I build it with qt5 and it works fine.

I am resurrecting my system. VLC is pulled in as a dependency, but I am having trouble with it. here is the run-down:

I know what I must do now. Simply create a new zpool at /var. I was thinking in terms of needing to use the one zpool at the encrypted drive, but there's no reason I can't make another.

it fails to use existing config. It neither uses the one in /etc/kernels nor the one in /usr/src/linux

odd to note that once in the past, this happened following the use of rsync to migrate the system to a new drive. /prc /sys /dev mountpoints are all there and populated at boot. Problem fixed--- I use NetworkManager and so did not have dhcpcd running. I added that to rc, started the service, now the device in question has an address. Thanks though.

fsdik doesn't recognize it. nor does parted nor gdisk. the folks at newegg said to return it as it is likely a bad drive. but I don;ty think that is probably the case. I have enabled AHCI in the bios and the kernel supports it. any other suggestions?
