Personally speaking I've found that the mythtv implementation of DVD playback can be susceptible to latency elsewhere in the system, although generally it works fine. Of course the issue you describe could possibly relate to something like decss which I believe will create / use a local cache ...

This version is crippled by so much bugs and usability regressions that I will probably go back to firefox...

EDIT : l'asus AT5NM10-I vous connaissez ?

Hi,

I have recently upgraded to mythtv0.22, in order to have stable VDPAU implementation (0.21+backport wasn't working right on HD content).

The only trouble was the database issue (utf8 instead of latin1). So it's need some work, but nothing difficult for an experienced mythtv user (it requires ...

Hi,

I use mythwelcome and launch it with .xinitrc and autologin.
Due to the fact I use wpa_supplicant (the box is wireless), I need to add a small "sleep 4" before launching mythwelcome or the frontend/mythwelcome is launched before mythbackend is ready.

I have to find a more robust workaround, as ...

Epiphany donwload directory sticks to /

Hi,

I cannot change download directory setting for epiphany-2.26.3-r1 on a fresh install.
It is stuck to /, even if modifying directly gconf value (lost as soon as I open preferences).

I have also to start from a fresh home directory, without success.

It's the only setting that is lost, other ...

You have some errors related to non local FS, maybe not related but try to fix them first. Are your storage groups on local FS or network FS?

A (mandatory) rule for Mythtv is to backup database BEFORE any modification/setup/update, and on a routine basis (done every night for me). If you run a ...

It seems that you backend dies for whatever reasons (in your log there is an error with alsa/sound).

On my main mythtv box (frontend/backend), I need to delay a little bit the frontend start to avoid erratic connection error (backend wasn't ready). But it really depends on your hw speed.

Current ebuild do not work on latest portage tree

My 2cts:

remove line 56: S="${WORKDIR}/${PN}-${MY_PV}"

Change line 173:
./configure ${myconf} || die "configure died"
to
sh ./configure ${myconf} || die "configure died"

as permissions are wrong into zip file.

Hello,

I have exactly the same symptoms, but it's on a random basis (mostly cold boot).
It's not a database problem since it was on a fresh install.
If I turn on all debug, the problem disappears... Very strange.

Cannot restart jackd without getting XRUN

Hello,

I try to use jack audio connection kit, but I have some problem with it.

First I setup my kernel (2.6.15) to use low latency settings, and use realtime-lsm to allow realtime scheduling for users.
I have not made a RT kernel since I do not have strong requirements on latency.
Everything is ...

AC3 spdif output and stereo downmix at the same time

Hello,

I am building a PVR system around Mythtv.
I want it to behave as close as a normal DVD player or recorder, this means that when watching a DVD, sound must be routed through spdif (AC3) and stereo ouput (for the TV set).
This way I can run it without HT running.
I could not find a way to do ...

It is only recognized by intel driver, but can't work on my setup (nforce6100 board): nothing pass through the board, the packet are either dropped or not sent.
It card itself is ok on windows.

You should try with intel epro1000 driver ...

Your disks are running in UW mode (or U2W single ended so downgraded to UW).

I noticed that if you attach a U2W/U3W disk that is running beyond 40Mo/s on a UW interface, you will never reach 40Mo/s. Maximum speed will be about half the max speed of the disk.

For example, my Quantum 10KII speed is ...

Not in kernel

The module for the DC395/315 scsi board is not in the "standard" kernel yet

You could find it here: http://www.garloff.de/kurt/linux/dc395/

But now your problem will be to install it. The only way to do it will be to use another distro to start your gentoo install.
Check if Suse support it, or ...
