seems im not rootkitted because of chk does return anything about it but who knows.. :/

Anyways i think its done with safe_mode = off in php.ini and theyv made something with php :/

Damn suddenly today I get a call. At my second work we have 50mbit line and like 3 C ipadress networks. Everything was unreachable. I have 2 hds. /dev/hdb1 as my boot partition. It is bootable.
So hd 1,0 should be right for that shouldnt it?

grub, kernel problem

When i boot up my fresh gentoo install. It first is black for a while then the screen becomes noisy with text saying.

Power of gentoo forum :) Thx seems like i have a chance :) Im not always into this cutting edge stuff but it happens. Thou DVD writing and sata isnt new . Ill miss nero for dvd writing ;)
Seems like I will install: x.org, xfce, 2.6 kernel, reiserfs4 etc Ill have to search around a bit more to see ...

Should I run Gentoo as desktop again?

Once I ran Gentoo on all my machines but now only on servers. It was because the lack of support for my hardware etc. SATA hds on raid, DVD-Writer, Large files over 4GB on hds and of course tons and tons of other small things but those were the main problems.
Im very intrested in running Gentoo once ...

Quota and GLFTPD

Tomorrow Im going to try to enable quota on my server.

Is it easy to have quota so that when one of my glftpd users upload files theyll be within the quota system etc?

Any info on this would be nice :) Aswell as maybe some pointers on how im going to succed this.

When I play a dvd in xine and left mouse click--> Stream --> Window Information..

Under audio I see Codec A/52 5.1

But Channels say: 2
shouldnt it say more?


Other probably not useful info it says:
Handled: yes, Ignore: No, Bitrate: 384000, Bits: 16, Samplerate: 48000, FourCC: 0x0
