I have my Ibus working (USE=gtk3) with several languages but I cannot make the chinese input Chewing working. (The others chinese input are working...)
When I try to use the Chewing input, I have an message error " CRITICAL **: Giving up to bring the process up because main Input Method ...

Which kernel are your running on?

When you say slow, does it mean slow on your network or on Internet?
Can you double checked your speed by download a Gentoo iso on a server ...

Pour les scripts, ca peut vraiment varier. Ca peut être des petits scripts qui renvoient les infos système ou bien la plus grosse tache, ce qu'on appelle la "moulinette" qui se charge de modifier les fichiers de configuration des paquets ...

I've just installed gentoo on my HTPC and I don't have any sound.
Actually, my PC is connected to my HDTV through a HDMI cable.

Into my kernel, I have set as a module, HDA Intel etc... and I've selected Realtek + ATI HDMI.

My user is part of the group audio, and I've check the sound ...

Yes I did it.
Actually I don't understand why....X -configure didn't work but aticonfig -initial did the trick.
So it is working now...

I've tried to run aticonfig --initial
then a startx

I see a purple screen then back to the command line with:
(EE) Failed to load module "dri" (module does not exist, 0)
(EE) Failed to load module "dri2" (module does not exist, 0)
(WW) fglrx: No matching Device section for instance found

I'm emerging gnome-light as well.
But after that, I'm always hesitating about what to merge next to get a nice working environment as just emerging gnome (Which had too many software that I don't use)
But I think, but emerge -vp gnome you can already see what you are going to emerge and then doing ...

Actually I did
emerge -C xorg-server and some others libs which were blocking
Then I have reinstaller xorg-server, the libs and update ati-drivers

unfortunately, now, I cannot startx....
I got the error:

Well, I guess I have to reinstall my ati-drivers with this new kernel as i got some problem with the screen (No pointer, slow graphic, etc...)

As I've deleted the 70-persistent file, I don't have it anymore. Emerging iwl5000-ucode was supposed to create one ?

What I think is that such card is really new, so it would be better to use a recent kernel like .34 or your version but with the "compat-wireless" package
