Thanks for the hint, it worked.

Not sure what you mean by /etc/conf.d/net.wlan0,
do not see any hint even in /usr/share/doc/openrc-0.8.2-r1/net.example

My previous HW required load/unload of kernel module from preup/postdown
and I just copied the config to new PC. If there is a better place to ...

Mh, doesn't work for me, all I get is a blank mutt-window?!

The difference between file in maildir and a mbox is basically the first From line.
I do not need to open the files into all details (and extract attachments) that often
and this approach of manually adding the From line works for me ...

[SOLVED] OpenRC: Passing env variables to init scripts

Hi,

My recent emerge installed openrc and I found myself in a problem with setting up wireless network.
Basically I use environment variable to specify the SSID as there are more available around
and one of them requires parameters not supported by gnome-network-manager.

So far everything worked ...

Create a script to see yourfile like this:

Code: Select all

echo From asdf `date` >/tmp/asdf
cat yourfile >>/tmp/asdf
mutt -f /tmp/asdf
rm /tmp/asdf

[SOLVED] Trouble getting DHCP lease when server requests MTU

Hi UberLord,

Only today I arrived back to the specific network to test the change suggested.
nolink in /etc/dhcpcd made the lease working:

Apr 26 17:12:07 hrk2 dhcpcd: eth0: MTU set to 1430

[SOLVED] getting DHCP lease when server requests MTU change

Have strange problem with new install of gentoo amd64 in LenovoW510 laptop.

Using dhcpcd 5.2.10-r2, e1000e in 2.6.36-tuxonice-r3, everything works fine
until I attach to a network where DHCP server requests updated MTU.
Once dhcpcd tries to update MTU, carrier is lost momentarily and the
DHCP ACK ...

Looks like my ISP is not the only one doing this...

Looks like it was a temporary issue, my address is not listed in RBL.

Now it worked, and I find it *very interesting* that during my test a SMTP connection
was made and FROM address: double-bounce@gentoo.org pretended to send
message to my used FROM address :-)

Notifications not received - invalid envelope source

I noticed trouble receiving notification about watched topic.
It looks like my ISP antispam filter is in the way, they check
whether envelope address is valid:

With the information provided, ... , you merged app-admin/syslog-ng explicitly. .

Thanks for your post. I am^H^Hwas 100% sure I installed syslog-ng as the very first emerge,
I do it always this way:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-amd64.xml?part=1&chap=9

emerge.log confirms that ...

[SOLVED] Metalog pulled in despite of syslog-ng installed

Hi,

Using Gentoo for years I am installing a new system, first time amd64.
Selected syslog-ng at the relevant stage of install guide, as usual.
After the long task of 'emerge gnome' I powered the system off,
and got surprised seeing error when /etc/init.d/metalog stop complained
that the service is ...

My solution

Observed the problem with Lenovo T60 after upgrade from 2.6.20 to 2.6.24.
Removed CONFIG_PCI_MSI from .config. It does not appear missing.
Menuconfig help is also not really sure of the benefits:
"If you don't know what to do here, say N."
