I seem to be having the same issue with distcc and glibc. I also have ccache in use, but glibc builds just fine with only ccache. As far as I can see, it seems to be an issue with distcc.

After relogging a few times, all the errors appear to have corrected themselves with the -bin. I wasn't able to use the icon in the Applications menu, but was able to type VirtualBox in a terminal. After relogging, suddenly the Applications menu item was working correctly.

Whatever the problem might have been, it appears to be resolved now.

Ok, rebuilt php without the mysql and mysqli flags, downloaded the latest phpmyadmin (3.2.5), and got this message when trying to access the phpmyadmin site:

I realize that apache does not have mysql use flag, but php definately does. If you do 'emerge -pv php', you will see both mysql and mysqli in the use flags.

I've been trying to get ivman to mount my DVD's automatically, but it doesn't seem to want to mount them. If I restart ivman, it finds all the devices, and mounts them to /media correctly, but if ivman is already running when I put in a DVD or USB stick, it just ignores them.

Looks like you stumbled on a bug here.

To enable it you should add "-x264" (yes, that's a hyphen, I know it is counterintuitive) to /etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask (meaning that you will disable/override the mask this way).

Why would it not be enabled in the SELinux profiles then?

My mistake. I had thought all 64 bit versions had it masked. Seems to only affect SELinux Hardened profiles.

It is not only under SELinux, but under any amd64 (and would assume ia64) profiles as well. It seems odd that it would be blocked, and no reason that I can see in any of the files explain why it is masked.

I'm trying to create a media server, but I am not able to build any packages with the x264 use flag. Just wondering why it is disabled in the profile? I have tested building x264 on my system, which is amd64, and it did not come up with any errors or anything.

Both the kernel I have installed on my system and the kernel that is on the livecd have CONFIG_SQUASHFS=y.

Does anyone else know why I can't boot from my LiveCD? I've tried it on another laptop and I get the same problem, so I know it's not the computer.

Some other information, the error is coming up while it's booting. It tries to mount the squashfs filesystem, then displays the error "!! Failed to $1 ...

When it fails, I get a console prompt. I've checked the main root and it does list /dev/loop0. Properties are brw-rw----. And yes, the directory it is trying to mount to also exists, which is /newroot/mnt/livecd.

I have CONFIG_BLK_DEV_LOOP=y, and CONFIG_BLK_DEV_CRYPTOLOOP not set. Does the cyrptoloop need to be enabled?

Does anyone else have any ideas why this would be happening? I am still getting the message with every emerge.
