emerge linux-headers error failed path

emerge linux-headers error failed path

kernel 2.6.36, a couple months without emerge world and this problem:

1. Don't wait that long to update. I have several Gentoo machines and I take a "day off" once a month to update all of them. I wouldn't recommend updating less frequently than that. I once had a machine I'd put away for a year and when I tried to update it, well, it was just impossible. Gentoo is a rolling release distro and isn't designed to be infrequently updated.

2. I always immediately simply try it again when a compile fails.

3. Try emerge -vuDN world, just in case you've changed your use flags. Even if you haven't, it's a good habit to have.

4. I'm guessing your kernel and headers no longer match. Can you please post emerge --info?
