[SOLVED] Why am I unable to mask Flash 10.1 ?

Hello all

Emerge refuses to accept it when I deliberately mask Adobe-flash 10.1.53.64 ...

When doing an 'emerge -upv world' ...
If I haven't accepted the 10.1 license in /etc/portage/package.license/Adobe, I get complaints about license not being accepted.

If I have accepted the 10.1 license in /etc/portage/package.license/Adobe, emerge ignores my package.mask.

I refuse to go back to the dark ages and run 32-bit flash under 64-bit OS no matter what it lacks in security, I only allow flash on a handful sites.

well, there is adobe-flash-10.1.53.64-r1, which is not covered by you package.mask

if you want to mask any 10.1 version of flash, use

OR

=www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.1*

BTW, 10.0 has been masked for security issues.
If you want to use flash (10.1 or 9.x) on 64-bit system, install nsplugin-wrapper, which allows you to run 32-bit plugins on a 64-bit system.

Thanks for the quick reply...

Unfortunately none of your suggested mask-patterns work either. I have tried masking ...

>=www-plugins/adobe-flash-10.0.45.3

... and I have 10.0.45.2 installed and that doesn't work either.
It is as if the powers that be wants to force me to upgrade to that 32-bit nonworking s**t.

At least the 64-bit version actually works, while the 32-bit version usually just hangs and has problems with audio etc. etc.
As I only allow flash on a handful of trusted sites I don't really care about the security reasons they had when masking it.
