Gnome 2.30 question

This forum covers all Gentoo-related software not officially supported by Gentoo. Ebuilds/software posted here might harm the health and stability of your system(s), and are not supported by Gentoo developers. Bugs/errors caused by ebuilds from overlays.gentoo.org are covered by this forum, too.

Enable the gnome overlay through layman;

Moved from Desktop Environments to Unsupported Software, software from overlays are not officially supported.

presently there is no gnome-2.30.ebuild (meta-ebuild) at all. There are the individual components that make up gnome 2.30 (like gnome-terminal-2.30, etc) that are in the gnome overlay.

thats the best you can get right now. gnome still identifies itself at runtime as 2.30 but its still the 2.28-meta ebuild.

as a result some 2.30 features aren't pulled in automatically, and you'd need to emerge them yourself. gnome-shell for example.
